Blaymires Recruitment is representing an established, family‑run construction and manufacturing business that is seeking a motivated Estimator / Surveyor to play a key role in its continued growth. The company has been operating successfully for over 40 years and delivers a diverse range of projects, including high‑end residential homes, church halls, village halls, nurseries, school classrooms, and self‑contained granny annexes, with project values typically ranging from £100k to £3m.

This is a broad, hands‑on role suited to an experienced commercial professional with a strong background in estimating, quantity surveying, and buying. Reporting directly to the Managing Director, the successful candidate will take ownership of the commercial function across both residential and commercial divisions, which have a combined turnover of approximately £7m. Experience within residential development or modern methods of construction would be advantageous.

The Role

You will have full responsibility for commercial management while also providing commercial support to the sales process, working closely with senior management, operational, design, and factory teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Commercial Management
  • Review, revise, and rewrite the estimating package for domestic, commercial, and residential development projects to ensure it is accurate, current, and user‑friendly
  • Maintain and regularly update estimating systems, ensuring accurate tracking of materials, production, and labour costs
  • Review and sign off tenders and contracts in collaboration with the Managing Director
  • Prepare and manage commercial
