Blaymires Recruitment is representing a leading fire safety and facade consultancy based near Southampton who is searching for a Senior Fire Engineer. The company provides expert services for external wall surveys, internal compartmentation, and fire risk assessments to ensure complete legislation compliance.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Fire Engineer or Senior Fire Engineer who wants to play a senior role within a respected consultancy environment, working across facade safety, building compliance, remediation, and the evolving requirements of the Building Safety Act.
The Role
As Senior Fire Engineer, you will provide technical fire engineering expertise across a varied portfolio of residential, commercial, and mixed-use buildings. You will support clients with practical, compliant, and commercially aware advice, helping them understand and manage fire safety risks across both new and existing buildings. You will be involved in:
- Fire engineering reports
- Fire strategies
- External wall and facade-related assessments
- PAS 9980 appraisals
- EWS1-related work
- Remediation advice
- Wider building safety consultancy
- Compartmentation
- Fire risk appraisals
- Fire statements
- Building safety management
Role Responsibilities
- Review team output, providing constructive feedback on quality and level of output.
- Oversee the training plan of Junior resource, ensuring that sufficient succession planning and resilience within the team exists.
- Deliver stakeholder feedback to the team, received from the Auditing process of the Cladding Safety Scheme, to improve the standard of future report submissions and increase the rate of Audit passes.
- Ensure individual CDP is carried out recorded and kept up to date.
- Carry out Fire Engineering Projects, depending on resource availability, level of competence and level of confidence, for FRAEWs in accordance with PAS9980.

- Attend Client Meetings where required, to discuss queries raised by clients, interested third-parties or developers, to outline report rationale, applied methodology and considerations.
- Review, Approval and Sign off FRAEW Reports and provision of EWS1 Forms as per Business Requirement. (Suitable Competence Required as per PAS9980, RICS)
Role Specific Qualifications
- Graduate, Associate, or Membership of the following recommended bodies
- Knowledge and experience of working with ADB, BS9999, BS9991
- Able to complete Fire Strategies and Fire Statements.
- Level 4 Fire safety working towards Level 5
- Level 5 Fire Engineering and design
- EngTech
- Institute Fire Engineers (IFE)
- Institute Fire Safety Managers (IFSM)
- Chartered Association of Building Engineers (CABE)
- Society of Fire Protection Engineers.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
