Blaymires Recruitment is representing the UK’s leading fire and façade consultancy, based near Romsey, and is searching for a Quantity Surveyor to join their growing team. The consultancy works closely with clients to understand and manage cladding and internal combustibility risks, defects, and remedial issues. They are currently overseeing the refurbishment of multiple residential building façades and work with a wide range of clients, including social housing providers, landlords, private consortiums, and management companies. This is primarily an office‑based role, with site visits required. The successful candidate must be able to drive the project from tender through to completion.
Responsibilities
- Invite contractors to tender and manage the tender process
- Place orders and administer subcontractor accounts
- Monitor project costs and provide financial reporting
- Visit sites to assess progress and manage commercial aspects
- Manage applications for payment and contractor payments
- Prepare and agree final accounts
Requirements
- Minimum 3 years’ Quantity Surveying experience
- Background within main contracting or consultancy
- Strong knowledge of scope of works documentation and bills of quantities
- Experience managing tender processes and subcontract accounts
- Strong negotiation skills within a construction environment
- Excellent organisation and cost management skills
- Experience managing invoices and payment processes
- Good understanding of JCT forms of contract
