Blaymires Recruitment is working with a specialist Civil Engineering contractor based in Portsmouth who is searching for an Estimator to join the team.
The company operates as a principal or specialist contractor and undertakes a variety of Civil Engineering and Groundworks projects for clients across the commercial and residential sectors with values ranging up to £3 Million.
Projects include Groundworks, Pile Foundations, Reinforced Concrete, Brick and Block Works, Diamond Drilling and Car Parks.
The company is going through an exciting period of growth and is looking for an experienced Estimator to join the team.
The company will consider either an Estimator or Estimator / Quantity Surveyor from a Groundworks or Civil Engineering background.
As the Estimator, you will be responsible for:
- Producing and completing tenders within the residential sector.
- Forecasting the costs of plant, labour, and materials for each project.
- Providing guidance to Junior Estimators within the team, whilst working closely alongside the Estimating Director.
- Attending Pretender client meetings.
- Helping develop new relationships and manage existing clients which the business is currently working with.
- Producing accurate cost estimates for projects.
Experience you will have as an Estimator:
- Previous experience working as a Groundworks Estimator within a contractor environment with a minimum of 5 years within this role.
- Experience of using Estimating software and Microsoft Office Packages.
- Have worked on projects ranging up to £5M.
- Educated to HNC Level.
- Previous experience in pricing Groundworks or Civil Engineering projects.
- Efficient with computers and can use Excel/ office systems etc.
