Blaymires Recruitment is representing a leading building contractor based near Verwood, Dorset who is searching for a Contracts Manager to join the business. The company has more than 45 years’ experience specialising across many sectors, including commercial and public sectors, delivering construction, refurbishment and maintenance projects, with project values up to £5M.
Due to continued success, they are looking to recruit an experienced and detail-driven Contracts Manager to join the team and oversee the successful delivery of projects from contract award through to completion. This is a key role within the business, ideal for someone who thrives on managing relationships, controlling costs, and ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, and to specification.
The Role
As Contracts Manager, you will be responsible for managing multiple contracts and ensuring projects are delivered efficiently, commercially, and in line with contractual obligations. Key responsibilities include:
- Managing contracts from award through to completion
- Acting as the main point of contact for clients and key stakeholders
- Ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to specification
- Managing subcontractors and suppliers
- Ensuring compliance with contractual, health & safety, and quality requirements
- Resolving commercial and contractual issues as they arise
- Working closely with Estimators, Site Managers, and operational teams
About You
You will be an organised and confident professional with strong commercial awareness and leadership skills. You will ideally have:
- Proven experience in a Contracts Manager or similar senior project role
- Refurbishment and construction experience
- Strong knowledge of contract administration and commercial management
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills
- The ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- A proactive and problem-solving approach
- Strong organisational and reporting skills
- Good IT skills (including Excel and project management systems)
