Assistant Quantity Surveyor

Salary up to £40,000 + Car Allowance + 21 Days Holiday + Pension

Blaymires Recruitment is representing an established residential developer who is searching for an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join the team.

The company is based near Winchester and delivers high-quality construction and refurbishment projects across the residential, commercial, and mixed-use sectors, with projects ranging up to the value of £20M.

They are looking for a motivated individual with around 24 years experience, currently operating as an Assistant Quantity Surveyor or Assistant Buyer, who is keen to step up into a broader in-house development position with real responsibility.

The Role

Working closely with the Commercial Manager and senior team, you will support the commercial management of projects from pre-construction through to final account.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Assisting with the preparation of cost estimates and budgets
• Supporting procurement of subcontractors and suppliers
• Measuring works and assisting with valuations
• Preparing interim applications and final accounts
• Monitoring project costs and reporting variations
• Supporting contract administration and commercial reporting

The Ideal Candidate

• 24 years experience in a Quantity Surveying or buying role
• Background working within construction or development
• Relevant qualification in Quantity Surveying or Construction Management (or working towards)
• Strong numerical and analytical skills
• Good communication and organisational abilities
• Ambitious and keen to take on more responsibility within a growing business
