The Role
Our client is seeking an ambitious Assistant Quantity Surveyor to support the commercial team across a range of development projects. You will be involved from early cost planning stages through to project delivery and final account, working closely with senior commercial and project management professionals. This role would suit someone keen to develop their commercial skillset within a supportive and structured environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Assisting with cost planning, estimates, budgets and tender documentation
- Measurement and valuation of works from drawings and on site
- Assisting with interim valuations, final accounts and cost reports
- Supporting contract administration under JCT and/or NEC forms
- Assisting with procurement and subcontractor management
- Attending site visits and project meetings
- Monitoring variations, changes and project costs
- Maintaining accurate commercial and contractual records
Skills & Experience
- Degree qualified or working towards a qualification in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management or a related discipline
- Some experience or placement within construction, consultancy or property development is advantageous
- Strong numerical, analytical and IT skills (Excel essential)
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Proactive, organised and eager to learn
- Full UK driving licence preferred
