We have an exciting opportunity for a Quality Control Manager to lead our quality team at our brand-new manufacturing facility in Basingstoke.
The role:
- Manage the day-to-day activities of the Quality Control function to support business needs.
- Ensuring all manufactured parts are inspected in accordance with internal documentation and requirements.
- Creating Quality Inspection Plans and Inspection Logs.
- Leading MRB meetings and coordinating with Engineering Authorities for technical authority dispositions.
- Supporting NPD projects in terms of verification & validation of products and processes.
- Managing calibration of equipment used in the manufacturing sites and clinics.
- Completing GRR studies on critical metrology equipment.
- Conducting Risk Assessments on QC working environments.
- Driving improvements in both product and process initiatives.
- Monitoring key performance indicators and setting team objectives to improve.
- Working closely with Production, Manufacturing Engineering, Planning & Logistics to ensure that customer demands, both internal and external, are met.
- Supporting Internal audits.
- Planning TPM requirements for critical metrology equipment.
- Maintaining Training Matrix for the Department and identifying gaps in training needs.
What are we looking for?
As Quality Control Manager, you will have the following:
- HNC / Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- Good working knowledge of Quality Management Systems.
- Trained Internal ISO9001: 2015 or ISO13485:2016 Auditor.
- Previous experience in a machining and milling environment, ideally within medical devices, Defence, Aerospace or Automotive Industry.
- Demonstrable knowledge of manufacturing process and capabilities.
- Familiarity with GDT and able to use a variety of metrology equipment, from micrometre to CMM/VMM.
- Previous management and leadership experience.
- Strong communication skills.
- Ability to delegate.
- Leads by example.
- Excellent team player.
