We are proud to be the sole provider of Prosthetic and Orthotics services for the Defence Medical Rehabilitation Centre at Standford Hall.

We have an exciting opportunity for a Prosthetist-Orthotist to join our small team at this unique facility.

The role

As Prosthetist-Orthotist , provide and promote a high standard of prosthetic and orthotic care and treatment across a range of amputation levels and patient pathologies ensuring best practice is applied in a multi-disciplinary team environment.

Key duties:

  • Providing a high standard of prosthetic and orthotic care to all patients across a range of amputation levels and pathologies.
  • Assessing, measuring, casting and fitting patients and rectifying models, using traditional methods and CADCAM where appropriate
  • Ensuring that patients’ individual needs are respected with an emphasis on clear explanations of proposed interventions
  • Prioritising workload and using time effectively to meet deadlines.
  • Identifying service improvements to ensure efficient and effective use of resources
  • Developing a good relationship with work colleagues in the clinical, technical, military and administrative fields

As Prosthetist-Orthotist, you will have the following.

Key skills

  • BSc and BSc (Hons) Prosthetics & Orthotics
  • HCPC registration
  • Membership of BAPO/ISPO
  • Previous experience as a Prosthetist/Orthotist working with both upper and lower extremities.
  • Previous experience working with trauma patients.
  • Problem solving skills
  • Good written and oral communications skills
  • Team player with the ability to work autonomously
  • General IT skills – word, PowerPoint, email
  • Driving Licence
