Blatchford Clinic is a private prosthetic and orthotic clinical service provider. Most of our clients have undergone complex trauma resulting in life changing injuries. Our aim is to provide a high level of service combined with the most advanced devices to restore our clients, as far as possible, to their pre-injury level of mobility. Working closely with legal professionals, case managers and insurers we provide expert witness services, initial needs assessments and bespoke treatment packages.

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Prosthetist to join the Blatchford Private Clinic team in Sheffield on a part time basis, up to two days per week, initially. As Prosthetist, you will focus on lower limb prosthetics and advanced socket designs to complement the advanced prosthetic products available from all suppliers. You will work autonomously as part of a wider MDT.

The role Key duties:

  • Providing the most appropriate, effective, and innovative prosthetic solutions.
  • Assessing, measuring, casting, fitting, delivering, reviewing, and adjusting prosthesis as required across a range of amputation levels.
  • Managing patient expectations, ensuring needs are respected and that the patient is kept fully informed.
  • Maintaining appropriate clinical notes and records.
  • Maintaining an up to date Continuing Professional Development (CPD) Portfolio.
  • Participating in postgraduate training courses arranged by the company or local centre.
  • Attending meetings and conferences.

What are we looking for?

As a Prosthetist you will have the following:

  • Degree qualified in Prosthetics and Orthotics, or equivalent.
  • HCPC registration.
  • BAPO or ISPO (desirable).
  • Experience in lower limb prosthetics.
  • Experience in delivering a range of prosthetic clinics.
