We have a fantastic opportunity for an Orthotist to join our specialist team based at the West Midlands Rehabilitation Centre, Selly Oak, Birmingham. The role:

As Orthotist, you will be responsible for the clinical delivery of orthotic services to the highest clinical and ethical standards. You will provide training and supervision to students, less experienced colleagues, and customers in all aspects of the service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Treating a complex range of patients, using the latest technology including CAD CAM.
  • Assessing, casting/scanning, fitting, supplying, reviewing, and adjusting orthoses across lower limb amputation levels.
  • Managing your patient’s case, ensuring needs are respected and the patient is informed throughout the process.
  • Maintaining appropriate clinical notes and records
  • Making a proactive contribution to the Service Contract and Company as a whole

What are we looking for?

As Orthotist you will have the following:

  • Qualified in Prosthetics and Orthotics
  • HCPC registration
  • Member of BAPO/ISPO (desirable)
  • Experience in a wide range of orthotic provision including paediatrics, orthopaedics, and footwear
  • Able to prioritise and manage your own workload and that of others
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of communicating with colleagues at all levels
  • Be able to manage difficult, challenging and sensitive situations
  • Good judgment and decision-making skills
