We have an exciting opportunity for a CAM Application Engineer to provide specialist engineering support involving machining processes and process controls for new and existing components. This role is initially offered on a 12 month, fixed-term contract.
The Role
As CAM Application Engineer, you will support the Manufacturing Engineering team, liaise with Production and Engineering departments, offering solutions for complex Mill/Turn parts and process development.
Key duties:
- Constructing and proving out Mill/Turn CNC programs, ideally using Solid CAM.
- Providing Post Processor development.
- Designing and documenting work holding and fixturing using Solid Works.
- Creating and maintaining all types of production documentation, including route cards, tooling and process sheets, inspection check sheets etc.
- Specifying, purchasing and maintaining tool supplies.
- Training and developing staff.
- Managing and planning jobs based upon company priorities.
What are we looking for?
As CAM Application Engineer, you will have the following Key Skills:
- HNC/HND Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
- In-depth Knowledge of CNC programming techniques, CAD / CAM, jig and tool design.
- Previous experience with Fanuc and Haas controls systems on Multi Axis.
