We have an exciting opportunity for a Graduate Electronic Design Engineer to join our growing, dynamic R&D team.

The role

As Graduate Electronic Design Engineer you will help deliver the businesses product roadmap, designing, developing and delivering new products on time and on budget.

You will support Blatchford’s legacy product portfolio through their complete lifecycle, managing component Obsolescence and supply constraints.

Key duties:

  • Implementing innovative designs in Altium or an alternative ECAD software Package.
  • Liaising with Systems engineering and clinical partners to capture user requirements, executing work packages inside our product verification and validation procedures.
  • Producing and maintaining technical documentation
  • Contributing to V&V activities where required, by writing and executing test protocols.
  • Leading and contributing to technical design reviews.
  • Supporting Operations to sustain production of Blatchford PCBAs.
  • Ensuring product compliance to medical device regulations including EMC.
  • Identifying new emerging technologies and where appropriate integrating into the product road map.
  • Identifying and developing relationships with manufacturing partners, ensuring part quality and on-time delivery.
  • Contributing to electronics Hazard Analysis.
  • Contributing to electronics Design Failure Mode and Effect Analyses (DFMEA). PCBAs.

What are we looking for?

Key skills

  • Degree in Electronic Engineering or related field, or equivalent relevant experience
  • Direct experience with
  • electronics CAD (ideally Altium)
  • requirements generation
  • schematic design
  • DFM/DFT
  • PCBA debug, test, and integration
  • regulatory interaction and EMC countermeasures/testing
  • Design and commissioning of custom test solutions for Production and V&V
  • NPI to manufacture.
  • product sustaining
  • Demonstrable experience of developing, evangelising, and realising new electronics architectures for complex real-time processor-controlled products.
  • Demonstratable knowledge of global quality and regulatory environment and Risk Management.
  • Ability to develop and maintain effective relationships and capable of quickly earning trust and respect.
