Working in partnership with the NHS, Blatchford provides the orthotic service across South Cumbria. We have an exciting opportunity for a Graduate Orthotist to support our clinics across the region. Your key focus will be on our clinic in Carlisle along with providing additional support to several satellite clinics across the region. This is a highly varied role where you will treat a wide range of patients and work in collaboration with a multi-disciplinary clinical team. You will also gain exposure to Prosthetic patients.
The role: As a Graduate Orthotist you will use your clinical skill and experience to contribute to the delivery of a first-class Orthotic Clinical Service. We are seeking a Graduate Orthotist with broad-based experience who is looking for an opportunity to develop and contribute.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supporting a caseload of clients with a wide range of complex conditions and recommending the best course of intervention.
- Effectively communicating with informed patient consent, discussing the reasons for the prescription.
- Providing counselling, advice, and support as necessary to maximise rehabilitation potential and to ensure understanding of condition.
- Assessing, measuring, casting, fitting, supplying, reviewing, and adjusting orthoses as required.
- Maintaining appropriate clinical notes and records.
- Providing training in the field of Orthotics at all levels.
What are we looking for?
- Qualified in Prosthetics/Orthotics.
- HCPC registration.
- Member of BAPO/ISPO (desirable).
- Experience in a wide range of orthotic provision including paediatrics, orthopaedics, and footwear.
- Able to prioritise and manage workload.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of communicating with colleagues at all levels.
- Be able to manage difficult, challenging, and sensitive situations.
- Good judgment and decision-making skills.
- Full UK Driving licence.
