We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Quality Control Technician to be based at our brand-new, state-of-the-art manufacturing site in Basingstoke.

Hours: Double day shifts, 6am – 2pm/2pm-10pm

The role:

As Senior Quality Control Technician, you will inspect manufactured and purchased products in accordance with company drawings & specifications.

Key duties and responsibilities:

  • Metrology inspection of purchased and manufactured products in accordance with Drawings, processes, internal documentation and any other requirements.
  • Inspecting components using QC equipment – micrometres, verniers, gauges etc.
  • Inspecting components using QC preprogrammed equipment – CMM and VMM.
  • Supporting NPD with parts/products requiring inspection and reports.
  • Liaising with the relevant technical authority on any technical issue.
  • Supporting MRB Reviews when necessary.
  • Supporting CAPA investigations, internally & externally as and when required.
  • Performing and/or supporting Gauge R&R or MSA reviews in line with company requirements.
  • Supporting calibration when necessary.
  • Supporting both Internal & External audits.
  • Supporting Continuous Improvement Initiatives.
  • First point of contact for technical issues within QC.
  • Completion of FAIs.
  • Creating and updating Inspection plans in collaboration with QC Engineering team.
  • Training members of the Quality Control team.
  • Deputising for the QC Manager as required.

What are we looking for?

As Senior Quality Control Technician, you will have the following:

Key skills and experience:

  • HNC or equivalent in an Engineering Discipline.
  • Trained and experienced in the use of CMM and VMM.
  • Experience in machining and milling, ideally within the medical or aerospace sector.
  • Familiar with GD&T and confident in a variety of metrology equipment ranging from a micrometre to CMM/VMM.
  • Ability to read drawings and determine the method of inspection.
  • Ability to write Inspection Reports.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Team player.
