As Clinical Lead Prosthetist - R&D, you will sit at the intersection of clinical practice, research, and product development, giving you the chance to directly influence how new solutions are designed, tested, and brought to market.
The Role
- Based at our Head Office, in Basingstoke, Hampshire.
- Act as a key clinical voice within our innovation development roadmap, ensuring patient needs and real-world usability are central to everything we create.
- Provide hands-on clinical input into product development, from concept through to launch to ensure patient needs are met.
- Deliver clinical oversight across trials, ensuring safety, ethics, and compliance.
- Support trial design, protocols, and outcome measures.
- Collaborate with R&D, Marketing, and global clinical teams.
- Translate clinical insight into practical product improvements.
- Represent Blatchford at conferences and industry events.
Importantly, you will remain clinically active by acting as the named clinician for our patient advocates, ensuring your expertise remains current and patient focused.
About You
- Qualified Prosthetist with 5+ years' experience.
- Strong knowledge of lower-limb prosthetics (microprocessor & mechanical systems).
- Understanding of gait, alignment, and patient-device optimisation.
- Experience or interest in clinical research or product development.
- Strong communicator, comfortable working across multidisciplinary teams.
- Motivated by improving patient outcomes through innovation.
