Working in partnership with the NHS, Blatchford provides the Prosthetic and Orthotic service across Carlisle and Cumbria region. We have an exciting opportunity for a Graduate Prosthetist at our Carlisle centre. This is a highly varied role where you will treat a wide range of patients and work in collaboration with a multi-disciplinary clinical team.
The role: As a Graduate Prosthetist you will use your clinical skill and experience to contribute to the delivery of a first class Prosthetic Clinical Service. We are seeking a Graduate Prosthetist with broad-based experience who is looking for an opportunity to develop and contribute.
Key Responsibilities:- Assessing, measuring, casting, fitting, delivering, reviewing, and adjusting prosthesis as required across a range of amputation levels.
- Managing patient expectations, ensuring needs are respected and that the patient is kept fully informed.
- Maintaining appropriate clinical notes and records.
- Maintaining an up to date Continuing Professional Development (CPD) Portfolio.
- Participating in postgraduate training courses arranged by the company or local centre.
- Attending meetings and conferences.
- Degree qualified in Prosthetics and Orthotics.
- HCPC registration.
- BAPO or ISPO (desirable).
- Experience in lower limb prosthetics.
- Experience in delivering a range of prosthetic clinics.
- Experience or have a desire to be involved in audit or service evaluation.
- Be able to manage difficult, challenging, and sensitive situations.
- Good judgment and decision-making skills.
- A structured graduate training programme.
- In house and external clinical training.
- On-going support and one to one mentoring from experienced clinicians.
