Through science, technology, and maintaining a clear focus on people, we make mobility possible We have an exciting opportunity for a CNC Programmer - Mill/Tur n, to support the programming, prove-out and optimisation of complex precision-machined components ***This role is initially offered on a 12 month, fixed-term-contract. *** The Role As CNC Programmer - Mill / Turn , you will focus on developing robust CNC programs, improving manufacturing processes, supporting new product introduction, and ensuring components are produced safely, efficiently and to the required quality standards. development .
Key duties: Creating, developing and optimising CNC programs for multi axis/multi spindle mill/turn machining centres.
Producing safe, efficient and repeatable machining strategies for complex components.
Supporting the prove-out of new and existing CNC programs on the shop floor.
Working closely with setters, operators, Manufacturing Engineers and Quality teams to resolve technical issues.
Reviewing engineering drawings, models and specifications to define the best manufacturing method.
Selecting appropriate tooling, workholding and machining methods to achieve quality and cycle-time targets.
Creating and maintaining accurate manufacturing documentation, including setup sheets, route cards, tool lists and work instructions.
Supporting New Product Introduction activities from early feasibility through to production release.
Troubleshooting machining issues, including dimensional variation, tool life, surface finish, cycle time and process stability.
Supporting root-cause investigation and corrective actions for non-conforming parts.
Liaising with external suppliers where required on tooling, fixtures, post-processors and technical support.
What are we look in g for?
As CNC Programmer - Mi ll/ Turn , you will have the following, Key
Skills: Time-served apprenticeship, HNC/HND, NVQ Level 3 or equivalent Proven experience as a CNC Programmer within a precision engineering or manufacturing environment.
Strong experience with mill/turn CNC machines.
Ability to program complex turned and milled features, including multi-axis machining.
Experience using offline CAM software such as Solid CAM, Mastercam, Hypermill, Powermill or similar.
Ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings, GD courage, learning, integrity, collaboration, and innovation.
