We are thrilled to have recently opened a canteen at our brand-new facility in Basingstoke and are looking for a Canteen Assistant to help make it a success.
This role is offered on a zero-hour contract, shifts available, Monday - Friday, 1pm - 6pm.
The Role
- Ensure the efficient operation of the onsite canteen, providing a quality service to all users.
- Basic food preparation.
- Setting up and breaking down food preparation area.
- Cleaning and sanitising food preparation equipment.
- Taking orders and serving Blatchford employees and visitors, ensuring a positive dining experience.
- Ensuring canteen area is kept clean, tidy, sanitised and ready for use.
- Keeping track of food and supply inventory levels, ordering new food and supplies, rotating food inventory.
- Managing food purchasing, storage and maintaining kitchen equipment.
- Ensuring smooth operation of the canteen.

What are we looking for?
- GCSE Maths & English (or equivalent).
- Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate.
- Previous experience of working within the catering industry.
- A good understanding of food, health and safety regulations.
- Good standard of personal hygiene.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Ability to use own initiative.
- Ability to work under pressure.
