The team
You will be working in a small FP&A team which also includes two Finance Business Partners and an FP&A Manager. We are looking for a new Junior Finance Business Partner who will sit in our FP&A team and support the wider business. Collaborating closely with various departments, the Junior Finance Business Partner will be the key finance point of contact responsible for all financial tracking and budgeting/forecasting for one of our key game publishers, as well as OPEX and CAPEX. They will also support the wider FP&A team with various financial reporting and consolidation tasks, including bi-weekly exec pack and regular board presentations.
Responsibilities
- Leading the budgeting and forecasting cycles for stated areas of responsibility, working closely with budget holders to gather assumptions and present clear outputs.
- Tracking actual OPEX and CAPEX spend and updating rolling forecasts including variance analysis vs budget.
- Business case and ROI analysis for investment decisions.
- Undertaking cash flow analysis and scenario modelling to support strategic decision-making.
- Collaborating with non-finance stakeholders to understand commercial drivers and provide actionable insight.
- Developing, improving, and maintaining models in Excel or Google Sheets - including control checks, user guides, and version management.
- Reviewing month-end financials, including accruals, prepayments, and variance analysis.
- Providing financial support for ad hoc projects, new initiatives, and business cases.
- Playing an active role in fostering a resilient, collaborative, and high-performing team culture.
Requirements
- Part or fully qualified in a recognised accountancy qualification (ACA / ACCA / CIMA).
- A solid understanding of accounting principles, including accruals, prepayments, and cash flow.
- Experience in financial planning and analysis (FP&A), with involvement in budgeting, forecasting, and variance reporting.
- A sound commercial understanding and an ability to pragmatically balance financial and commercial outcomes.
- A desire to work in fast-moving, ever-changing and unstructured environments, with shifting priorities.
- Effective communication and relationship-building skills and experience working with non-finance stakeholders.
- Advanced Excel and/or Google Sheets skills, with the ability to build well-structured, scalable models. Experience in Airtable is a bonus.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to data integrity, alongside the pragmatism to operate in grey areas where needed.
- A keen ability to take ownership of problems and be solution focussed.
- A self-starter mindset, curious, solutions-focused, and comfortable working with limited guidance.
- Energy, resilience, and enthusiasm, someone who genuinely wants to make a difference and improve how things are done.
- Experience in esports, events, entertainment, media or another adjacency is favourable but not essential.
