We are hiring an Event Manager for the BLAST x Valve global ecosystem, an exciting role to lead the planning and delivery of the arena show elements of multiple high profile tournaments. This is an exciting opportunity for a senior event professional to work in a global setting and take the lead on delivering some very exciting esports events.
Responsibilities
- Lead operational contact for the event delivery elements of BLAST arena shows, coordinating all of the venue operations with all relevant stakeholders both internally and externally.
- Lead on all deadlines & deliverables relating to the venue hire contract or stipulated by the venue team, working very closely with the Production and ticketing lead on all operations.
- Have a clear overview of all activities happening across the venue (e.g. high level overview of load in, media days, ad-hoc tours and events etc.) and a contact list of all key personnel.
- Coordinate all site visits and team introductions ensuring the correct departments & venue contacts are represented and connected.
- Own the non-production elements of the floorplan e.g. back of house and office layouts, dressing rooms, furniture, catering areas as well as ensuring all activity regarding practice rooms at the team hotel is planned with tournament operations.
- Lead the on-site comms flow and daily briefs relating to Event Delivery.
- Hire and manage freelance local Event Managers / Coordinators / FOH staff where required, and work with any local production companies in the respective country.
- Own & manage the relevant lines of the budgets relating to event delivery.
- Work closely with all BLAST departments including production, ticketing, commercial and broadcast colleagues to collectively finalize floor-plans and seating charts before on-sale announcements.
- Work closely with the BLAST commercial team to ensure partner activations are facilitated on site and are approved by the venue.
- Responsible (with support from the event coordinator) for researching, booking and managing all Hotels and accommodation operations.
- Responsible (with support from the event coordinator and team operations) for the planning and delivery of all on-site catering, accreditation and staff operations on venue.
- Plan and budget for the front of house audience elements - VIP operations including staffing & budget (not including guestlist), signing sessions, partner activations, concourse floor plans etc.
- Work closely with the Ecosystem Directors and Exec Producer on KPI’s and ensuring the Events department is delivering what is needed.
Requirements
- Experience in delivering complex events in a multi-stakeholder environment.
- International event experience preferred.
- Willing to travel internationally for event delivery multiple times a year.
- Willing to travel internationally for workshops and/or site visits.
- Excellent at relationship building, multitasking and remaining calm under pressure.
- Experience working in a fast-paced environment.
- Right to work in EU or UK - Copenhagen or UK (able to travel to London) base preferred.
- Knowledge of the esports industry is a nice to have, but not essential.
