Beautifully refurbished 12 bedroom hotel in the idyllic village of Dunnet, Scotland, situated 4 miles from the mainland’s most northerly point Dunnet Head.
Exciting opportunity for a hospitality professional to use their passion and enthusiasm to lead a team dedicated to providing a truly warm “Highland” welcome, ensuring guests are treated to the utmost hospitality and care during their visit. As the General Manager you will be the ‘face’ of Northern Sands Hotel. You will set the standard – smart and well presented, encouraging your team to follow your example and lead them to success.
The right candidate will have a natural gift for hospitality who can deliver great bar service, operate a fast pace restaurant with confidence and a smile, while assured in the knowledge that the rooms are of the highest standard. Energetic and lively individual who remains calm and organised, with a planned and logical approach to shift management.
Main Responsibilities
- Ensure the smooth operation of all departments throughout the day.
- Immaculate personal presentation.
- Supervise, motivate and assist in training of the team.
- End of day reports and cashing up.
- Decision making capability.
- To ensure that any complaints are minimised and are dealt with professionally.
- Staff management including rota creation.
- Strong attention to detail.

Desirable Qualifications & Experience
- Competent IT skills (Previous experience in managing an online booking system and EPOS desirable).
- 5 years experience in a similar role.
- Driving Licence.
- Knowledge of licensing laws (preferable personal licence holder).
