Role Overview

As Technical Assistant, you’ll assist the Technical Coordinator in the planning, logistics and on-site execution of our events. You’ll work closely with the Technical Coordinator, the Head of Events and the wider team to ensure all technical aspects of the production run smoothly – from lighting and audio to staging and visuals. This is a hands-on role and you will be expected to be involved in delivering equipment to events, rigging/installation, and working at events in capacities appropriate to your skills. Key Responsibilities

  • Assist the Technical Coordinator in end-to-end technical production for events, from planning to de-rig.
  • On-site setup and breakdown of AV equipment including lighting, screens, sound systems, and staging.
  • Assist the Technical Coordinator in managing logistics for equipment transportation and crew scheduling.
  • Assist the Technical Coordinator in managing the warehouse, including maintenance of equipment and stock management/inventory.
  • Work closely with entertainers, clients, and venues to ensure seamless delivery.
  • Conduct site visits and produce technical specifications for events.
  • Ensure all health and safety protocols are followed during production.
  • Liaise with suppliers and freelancers where required.

Essential Requirements

  • Clean UK Driving Licence (ability to drive vans and transport kit to event sites).
  • Strong practical understanding of audio-visual equipment (Sound desks, lighting rigs, screens, etc. Plus knowledge of industry software such as QLab).
  • Proven experience in production within events, theatre, or live entertainment.
  • Ability to troubleshoot under pressure and think on your feet.
  • Comfortable with hands-on work including lifting, rigging, and setting up technical gear.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • Flexible schedule – availability for evening/weekend work as needed.
  • A strong team player with a proactive, can-do attitude.

Desirable Attributes

  • Experience in live performance or entertainment industry.
  • Formal training or certifications in AV or technical production.
  • Knowledge of health and safety protocols.
