Role Overview
As Technical Assistant, you’ll assist the Technical Coordinator in the planning, logistics and on-site execution of our events. You’ll work closely with the Technical Coordinator, the Head of Events and the wider team to ensure all technical aspects of the production run smoothly – from lighting and audio to staging and visuals. This is a hands-on role and you will be expected to be involved in delivering equipment to events, rigging/installation, and working at events in capacities appropriate to your skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Technical Coordinator in end-to-end technical production for events, from planning to de-rig.
- On-site setup and breakdown of AV equipment including lighting, screens, sound systems, and staging.
- Assist the Technical Coordinator in managing logistics for equipment transportation and crew scheduling.
- Assist the Technical Coordinator in managing the warehouse, including maintenance of equipment and stock management/inventory.
- Work closely with entertainers, clients, and venues to ensure seamless delivery.
- Conduct site visits and produce technical specifications for events.
- Ensure all health and safety protocols are followed during production.
- Liaise with suppliers and freelancers where required.
Essential Requirements
- Clean UK Driving Licence (ability to drive vans and transport kit to event sites).
- Strong practical understanding of audio-visual equipment (Sound desks, lighting rigs, screens, etc. Plus knowledge of industry software such as QLab).
- Proven experience in production within events, theatre, or live entertainment.
- Ability to troubleshoot under pressure and think on your feet.
- Comfortable with hands-on work including lifting, rigging, and setting up technical gear.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
- Flexible schedule – availability for evening/weekend work as needed.
- A strong team player with a proactive, can-do attitude.

- Experience in live performance or entertainment industry.
- Formal training or certifications in AV or technical production.
- Knowledge of health & safety regulations and risk assessments.
- Familiarity with event planning software or project management tools.
