We are looking for an experienced BSL and DeafStudies Tutor to plan, deliver and assess a high-quality British Sign Languagecurriculum up to Level 4 or higher for Deaf and hearing pupils, parents andstaff - alongside delivering Deaf Studies lessons for learners in line with theDeaf Studies Curriculum.
The successful candidate will:
- have excellent planning, organisation andadaptive teaching skills
- have strong communication and interpersonalskills with the ability to work effectively with deaf and hearing learners,families and professionals
- have a qualification to teach Signature Level1 to 4, or higher
- have energy and enthusiasm and a commitment towork as part of a team
- availability to work up to 6.00pm on someevenings
- have experience of teaching and formallyassessing BSL across a range of levels and age groups
- work collaboratively as part of a supportiveteam of deaf and hearing staff
- have an understanding of the language andcommunication needs of deaf children and young people
- be familiar with and practised at using formalassessments
- be familiar with DCAL assessment
