Blaker Group Ltd are seeking a number of skilled and dedicated Tig Welder/Fabricators to join our manufacturing team. The successful candidates will be responsible for fabricating and welding metal components with precision and attention to detail. These roles offer an excellent opportunity for individuals with a strong mechanical aptitude and experience in various welding techniques, particularly Tig welding. The positions require a proactive approach to safety, quality, and efficiency, contributing to the production of high-quality marine fabrications and assemblies. If you excel in Tig Welding Aluminium and Stainless steel then we have roles available with our Solent Engineering division specialising in the marine sector.

Responsibilities

  • Perform Tig welding and other welding processes on various materials, including Stainless steel, Aluminium, sheet metal and fabricated components.
  • Use hand tools, power tools, and fabrication equipment to cut, shape, and assemble metal parts.
  • Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications to ensure accurate fabrication.
  • Operate fabrication machinery safely and efficiently, maintaining equipment in good working order.
  • Assist in the assembly of marine fabrications or products, ensuring alignment and fit are precise.
  • Maintain a clean and organised workspace, adhering to health and safety standards at all times.
  • Collaborate with team members to meet production deadlines while maintaining quality standards.
  • Conduct inspections of welds and fabricated parts to ensure compliance with specifications.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in Tig welding and general fabrication within a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong knowledge of welding standards and practices.
  • Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and fabrication equipment.
  • Mechanical knowledge with the ability to interpret technical drawings and blueprints.
  • Basic mathematical skills for measurements and calculations related to fabrication tasks.
  • Experience working with mechanical machinery advantageous.
  • Good organisational skills with an eye for detail to ensure high-quality workmanship.
