We are recruiting for a Shift Manager to join a leading manufacturer in the Leeds area on a Panama day shift pattern (6am–6pm). This is a fantastic opportunity to join a high-performing team at a pivotal operational level, driving both safety and performance.
Role Details:
- Panama Shift Pattern: 7 days worked over 14 (includes weekends & most Bank Holidays)
- Shift Hours: 6:00 AM – 6:00 PM
- Paid Breaks: 3 x 25-minute breaks per shift
- Salary: Up to £67K, depending on experience
- Holiday Entitlement: 22 shifts per annum
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead safety and food safety standards across operations
- Ensure attainment of KPIs: plan adherence, GMP scores, RFT %, OTIF logistics, etc.
- Complete and close out hazard assessments, risk assessments, safety tours
- Drive team development, recruitment, retention, and compliance with training plans
- Ensure high standards in allergen awareness, HACCP, SOPs, and NCR resolution
- Provide hands-on support and improvement recommendations around process, training, and equipment
- Maintain technical and quality compliance with customer and internal expectations
Key Skills & Requirements:
- Proven leadership & people management experience in food/FMCG
- IOSH or equivalent safety qualification
- Strong planning, logistics, and performance tracking skills
- Training and development mindset for team progression
- Competent in Excel and confident with concise reporting
- Trained in RCA (Root Cause Analysis), Hazard Analysis, HACCP, and Food Safety
