Located in Hertfordshire, Blakeney Motorsport is a race preparation and restoration company looking after a wide range of classic and historic racing and sports cars mostly dating from the 1920’s through to the 1970’s. We undertake a significant amount of reverse engineering and manufacturing in order to support our engine, transmission and chassis projects including the casting and manufacture of complete engines.

Responsibilities will include liaising with our mechanics, engineers and supply chain partners in order to analyse original, often failed components and then redesigning them with improvements for performance, modern manufacturing processes and materials.

It is essential that any candidate has:

  • Proficiency in CAD software, preferably SolidWorks
  • The ability to use engineering measuring tools
  • Awareness of automotive systems and their component materials, manufacturing methods, tolerances and fits

Basic assembly skills, understanding of engine principles, experience of reverse engineering and familiarity of imperial measurement systems are desirable. While machining, scanning, prototype manufacture, FEA or CFD experience could be beneficial.
