The Blakeney Hotel is an award winning, four star, 64 bedroom, privately owned and family run hotel located in an unrivalled position on the Quay in Blakeney on the North Norfolk coast. We are looking for a warm, professional and efficient receptionist who will be the first point of contact to all guests and visitors of the hotel.

Role of the Receptionist:

  • Providing professional and friendly service to our guests, ensuring high standards of customer care, friendliness and politeness are met.
  • Answering telephone and in-person enquiries.
  • Checking guests in and out.
  • Dealing with guest enquiries.
  • Taking room and dining reservations, calculating room rates and entering reservations into our systems.
  • Dealing with booking amendments and cancellations.
  • Ensuring guest complaints are dealt with professionally and in a timely manner.
  • Preparing reservation confirmation letters and dealing with reservation queries.
  • Daily banking.
  • Co-ordinating guests' requests with other departments.

Experience / Skills of the Receptionist:

  • Friendly and professional manner.
  • Clearly spoken and good telephone manner.
  • Exceptional communication skills both verbally and written.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • A high standard of personal presentation and professionalism.
  • Experience in a similar role or as a receptionist in a 4-star hotel or above is desirable but not essential.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Basic computer literacy including the use of Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel and the ability to learn new software.
  • The ability to be calm and well organised, even when working under pressure.

Working Hours: Permanent, Full-time (40 hours per week). This role will involve working 5 days out of 7 including early mornings, evenings and weekends on a rota basis.

Location: Blakeney, Norfolk. Due to our location, where public transport is limited, having your own transport is essential to be able to commute reliably to and from the hotel.

Contract type: Permanent
