Duty Manager – SPAR – Monkmoor (18+)
Contract: Permanent, Full‑time. Hours: 24 per week with varied shifts (mornings, evenings, weekends). Salary: £13.25 per hour (varies with age). Reporting to the Store Manager.

Role Overview
As a Duty Manager you support the Store Manager in leading the team, ensuring excellent customer service, and contributing to store sales and profitability through our core objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Store Manager to ensure a safe, legal and high‑performing store, taking overall responsibility during Duty Manager shifts.
- Assist the Store Manager in delivering all store operations, objectives and KPI’s.
- Manage, coach and support colleagues, developing a motivated and empowered team through positive, engaging management.
- Carry out performance management/absence management as appropriate.
- Occasionally open/close the store, ensuring colleague safety and stock/cash security during shifts.
- Carry out cash reconciliations, voids and refunds and other management tasks for till colleagues.
- Be a role model and lead the team to provide an exceptional customer experience.
- Work with colleagues to promote the store by identifying and acting on opportunities to engage with the local community of Monkmoor.
- Adhere to all company policies, procedures and processes.
Duty Manager Skills Required
- Previous management or supervisory experience in food retail or a similar fast‑paced operation.
- Committed to achieving and sustaining exceptional customer service standards.
- Able to plan, organise and prioritise effectively.
- Ability to communicate and influence at all levels.
- Capable of making appropriate decisions.
- Committed to promoting collaborative working.
