We are currently recruiting for a Chartered Financial Planning practice in Tunbridge Wells who are looking to recruit a Paraplanner to join their team.

ROLE
To assist advisers in all aspects of providing advice to clients.

KEY FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • 1. Product Research
  • The technical and practical evaluation of products within the range specified in your personal job description; sharing product information with advisers and paraplanners.
  • 2. Financial Planning
  • To assist the development and implementation of a strategy that will enable a client to meet financial objectives.
  • 3. Presentation Of Advice
  • To prepare letters, reports and other documents as part of the advice process including reviews.
  • 4. Meeting Preparation
  • To help advisers prepare for client meetings including the preparation of all relevant paperwork.
  • 5. Client Reviews
  • To update client records, analyse progress and present information in accordance with our Annual Review Procedures.
  • 6. Compliance
  • To help ensure that all dealings with clients are in accordance with internal and regulatory guidelines.
  • 7. Treating Customers Fairly
  • To help ensure that we always deal with clients fairly.
  • 8. System Development
  • To assist in the development of systems and procedures in respect of all points above.
  • 9. Special projects
  • To assist with special projects at the request of the Partners
  • REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum of 2-3 years of experience as a technical paraplanner within the financial
  • services industry.
  • Knowledge and experience of:

    ➒ personal financial planning
    ➒ pre and post retirement planning
    ➒ investment funds and asset allocation
    ➒ tax treatment of different fund types and product wrappers
    ➒ investment, pension and annuity products
    ➒ financial planning legislation
    ➒ tax legislation
    ➒ FCA compliance requirements

  • Level 4 DipPFS preferable or working towards
  • A good standard of English and Mathematics
  • Communication skills – both verbal and written
  • Experience of both bespoke and templated report writing
  • Ability to obtain, assess and act on information
  • Highly organised
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office Word & Excel
  • Previous experience of Defaqto, Select a Pension, FE Analytics and CashCalc an advantage
  • Common sense approach to work
  • Ability to work without supervision
  • Take responsibility for own caseload
  • Practical and logical decision making
  • Willingness to contribute to the general administration and development of the firm
