We are currently recruiting for Family Office based in the West End who are looking for a Paraplanner to join their team. They are looking for a Paraplanner who has completed the Level 4 Diploma.

Position Summary:

This a growing business, with a small, close knit team with an excellent working environment and culture. This position will work in collaboration with the Financial Adviser, Client Manager and other colleagues, you will assist in preparing recommendations and producing suitability reports in line with company policy, including preparing and maintaining client records. The role will involve promoting the company’s services in a professional and FCA compliant manner.

Core Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Deal effectively with queries from clients and other parties through effective communication.
  • Keep clear and updated records of client communications including client related communications with third parties
  • Working with the Financial Adviser and Client Manager you will discuss the client’s objectives, identifying and obtaining the information necessary to compile the financial report.
  • Manage client workflow and be able to retain a clear overview of client workload and in progress cases.
  • Liaise with product providers and other third parties to acquire additional information that may be required in order to assess the client’s needs and to formulate recommendations.
  • Assist in identifying areas for planning and sourcing solutions suitable to meet the client’s needs and objectives. This will include assisting in the preparation of tax calculations where necessary.
  • Obtain information, quotes, illustrations and product details, and provide comparisons for analysis.
  • Prepare suitability letters and reports for approval by the Financial Adviser in line with company policy and prepare associated accompanying documentation as required. This will include the pre-completion of documentation ready for clients to check and sign.
  • You may at times be required to assist and provide support with administrative functions, for example: new business processing, data updates, collating, organising and preparing future planning meetings with the client on behalf of the Financial Adviser.
  • You may also be required to assist in preparing and attending client meetings to provide follow up notes and manage any actions.
  • You may also be required to participate in the Investment Committee and working with external third parties for delivery of our investment strategies and due diligence processes.
  • You will commit to continuous personal development, keeping knowledge up to date and retaining supporting records for review.
  • Qualifications and Skills:

    Essential:

  • Level 4 Diploma for Financial Advisers (either through the CISI or CII)
  • Financial Services Experience
  • Paraplanning experience
  • Strong knowledge of all investment, life and pension products
  • Desirable:

  • Working towards Certified or Chartered Financial Planner Status
  • Technical knowledge areas – Tax, Trusts, Pensions, IHT planning/ investments
  • Experience working with Iress/ Adviser Office
  • Technical knowledge may be validated from time to time through internal assessment.
