We are currently recruiting for a Financial Planning practice in St. Albans who are looking to recruit a Junior Paraplanner to help support the Financial Planners.

The Paraplanner will be shared by four consultants and work alongside the admin team.

Job description

  • A highly motivated and enthusiastic individual with some/several years of extensive experience gained working within the financial services industry. Preferably has taken some qualification exams in \’RO\’ and \’JO\’ papers to get the appropriate qualification as necessary.
  • Current role consists of being split between paraplanning and investment so that they can gain exposure to multiple sides of the business and assist where necessary. For the Investments, they will learn to conduct MIFID II Annual Reviews. This includes showing the client how their investments have performed over the last year and how their portfolios meet their attitude to risk and reconfirm their risk profile.
  • On the planning side, they need to become proficient in writing annual review summary letters and investment case writing. This involves mainly writing reports for ISA/GIA contributions, top-ups, Bed and ISAs and Investment withdrawals but does also include several other different report types.
  • They also need to write some pension reports for new contributions, top-ups etc. The candidate also needs some experience of Cash Flow analysis software.
  • Key duties

  • Technical research in DB schemes – speaking with ceding scheme administrators etc.
  • Dealing with clients but not giving advice
  • MIFID reporting, annual reviews
  • Suitability Report writing assistance
  • Preparing for meetings, meeting notes, follow up as required
  • Relevant qualifications – β€˜RO’ papers and β€˜JO’ papers
  • Cash flow planning admin, experience of this with any software preferred but not essential
  • Compliance of client files and assist with file audits
