I'm working with a metal fabrication business specialising in stainless steel, looking for a Quality Engineer to drive a culture of quality integration across the site. This role will be the focal point for all audits (first, second, and third party) and will ensure that health and safety is the number one priority, so everyone goes home safely at the end of each working day.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with production and design teams to promote customer satisfaction throughout the site.
- Monitor and report on quality KPIs.
- Address and resolve quality concerns, ensuring corrective actions are effective and sustainable.
- Respond proactively to customer complaints and questionnaires, ensuring timely resolutions and reporting on effectiveness.
- Work closely with the design team to resolve any build issues that may arise during production.
- Understand customer needs and liaise with sales and purchasing teams to ensure products consistently meet customer expectations.
- Maintain and develop existing quality systems and introduce new procedures/processes as needed.
- Conduct internal and supplier audits as necessary.
- Develop and implement work instructions, monitoring their effectiveness.
- Maintain the quality manual in accordance with ISO standards, communicating changes to key stakeholders.
- Submit annual returns to ensure regulatory compliance.
Qualifications/Courses/Experience:
- Previous experience in a Quality role, preferably within an engineering/manufacturing background.
- Competent problem-solving skills.
- Strong oral, written, and computer skills.
- Quality-trained with a solid understanding of ISO 9001:2015.
- Ability to establish internal quality standards and meet customer expectations.
- Knowledge of WEEE, ROHS, and REACH regulations.
- Trained to carry out internal audits in line with ISO 9001:2015 standards.
- Excellent document control skills.
