We are looking for an experienced and proactive Credit Controller / Management Accountant to join our finance team, reporting directly into the Group Financial Controller. This is a key role supporting the day-to-day running of the finance function across the Group, with responsibility for credit control, cash management, and core transactional finance processes.
You will play an important part in maintaining strong cash collection performance, ensuring accurate and timely postings, transactional finance and month-end reporting across the Group, and supporting improved financial controls and reporting as the business continues to grow.
Key responsibilities include:
- Credit control / debt chasing and query resolution
- Bank postings, cash allocations and bank reconciliations of multiple currency balances
- Sales invoicing and maintaining accurate debtor records
- Preparing monthly cashflow forecasts
- Weekly cash reporting to the Group
- Monitoring and reconciling credit card spend
- Ensure timely payments while ensuring approvals and supporting documentation are in place
- Supporting month-end close and audit preparation
The Individual
Essential experience and skills:
- Proven experience in a credit control / finance assistant / sales ledger role
- Strong understanding of the end-to-end credit control process and cash allocation
- Confident communicating with clients regarding outstanding payments
- High attention to detail and ability to work to deadlines
- Strong Excel skills (including use of spreadsheets for tracking and reporting)
- Experience using finance systems (FreeAgent, Zoho, SAP, or similar)
Desirable:
- Experience working in a group structure
- Exposure to month-end close and audit support
- Strong understanding of multi-currency accounting, including FX gains/losses, exchange rate application, and reconciliation of foreign currency balances
- Qualified or studying towards AAT / CICM / ACCA / CIMA
You must also have the right to work in the United Kingdom.
Base Location: London, Glasgow, Slaithwaite (Huddersfield) or Karachi. Hybrid working is the normal way of working. We will also consider fully remote for exceptional candidates.
