About the Role & Practice
A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Equine Veterinary Surgeon to join Blaircourt Equine Veterinary Clinic, a well‑established and highly respected equine practice situated in the Essex countryside, close to Chelmsford. We are looking for a passionate and enthusiastic veterinary surgeon to become a key part of our dynamic and sociable team on a permanent, long‑term basis. This role would suit a senior clinician who enjoys a varied caseload, including ambulatory work, with a particular emphasis on orthopaedic and performance investigations alongside surgical procedures. You’ll play an integral role within the clinical team, delivering excellent patient care while supporting the ongoing development of colleagues around you.
This is a full‑time position working Monday to Friday, 9am‑5pm, with participation in a shared out‑of‑hours rota. We provide services to a diverse client base ranging from leisure horse owners through to international competition yards. Our main clinic and branch practice are both well‑equipped with:
- Digital radiography
- Ultrasound
- Endoscopy and gastroscopy
- Laser therapy and surgical equipment
- Arthroscopy facilities
- Gait analysis technology
- Specialised dental equipment
- Examination rooms and surgical facilities
- Stabling and isolation facilities
- In‑house laboratory facilities
You’ll be supported by an experienced and committed team across management, reception, and nursing, with a strong emphasis on teamwork, clinical standards, and continuous development.

Blaircourt Equine Veterinary Clinic is ideally located in the Essex countryside, close to Chelmsford, offering the perfect balance between rural practice life and excellent connectivity.
