Blair West are supporting Northern Endurance Partnership to find a Project Investment Analyst. This role sits within the Finance and Commercial team and will play a pivotal role in supporting investment decisions across nationally significant Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS) infrastructure projects. As part of a small, highly visible team, the successful candidate will provide commercial insight and economic analysis that helps shape major investment decisions and supports the UK's transition to Net Zero.
The opportunity
- Develop and maintain complex economic and investment appraisal models to support major CCS infrastructure projects.
- Evaluate investment opportunities using discounted cash flow techniques, including NPV, IRR and scenario analysis.
- Support Final Investment Decision (FID) processes through commercial evaluation, risk assessment and sensitivity modelling.
- Analyse key cost drivers and commercial assumptions to identify risks and opportunities across large-scale capital projects.
- Support the preparation and submission of regulatory reporting, ensuring commercial and financial information is accurate and auditable.
- Produce commercial performance reports, dashboards and KPI analysis to support management decision-making.
- Present commercial insights and recommendations to senior stakeholders and governance groups.
- Provide analytical support for investment papers, business cases and strategic planning activities.
- Act as a key point of contact for commercial and financial analysis across the wider business.
You’ll be the ideal candidate for this position if you have
- Experience in a commercial analysis, corporate finance, business planning or investment appraisal role.
- Strong financial modelling capabilities and experience building robust economic models.
- A solid understanding of project economics, including discounted cash flow analysis, NPV and IRR methodologies.
- Experience interpreting complex datasets and translating findings into clear commercial recommendations.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a high level of attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to engage effectively with a range of stakeholders.
- Experience within energy, infrastructure, utilities or other capital-intensive sectors would be advantageous.
- Knowledge of project finance, major capital projects or regulated industries would be beneficial.
- A degree in Finance, Economics, Engineering, Business or a related discipline, or able to demonstrate equivalent experience.
