Blair West are supporting Ryecroft Glenton to find a Manager/Senior Manager – Outsourced | FD. This role sits within the firm’s growing Outsourced | FD service line, supporting SME clients with modern, tech-enabled finance function solutions. The successful candidate will take ownership of a portfolio of clients, overseeing the delivery of finance operations while acting as the day-to-day relationship lead and managing delivery teams to ensure a consistently high standard of client service.
The opportunity:
- Take ownership of a portfolio of SME clients across a range of sectors, acting as the primary point of contact and relationship lead.
- Lead client onboarding, delivery planning, and ongoing communication to ensure smooth and effective engagement.
- Oversee the delivery of monthly finance outputs including management accounts, VAT returns, reconciliations, cash flow forecasts, and MI reporting.
- Coordinate the preparation of year-end statutory accounts and corporation tax returns, working with internal and external tax teams where required.
- Ensure accurate and timely financial delivery through the use of cloud-based accounting tools and systems.
- Identify potential risks or issues early, proactively resolving challenges to maintain delivery quality and client satisfaction.
- Manage and mentor a team of assistants, executives, and assistant managers, supporting their professional development.
- Oversee workflows across the team to ensure deadlines, quality standards, and client expectations are consistently met.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of internal processes, reporting templates, and delivery methods across the service line.
You’ll be the ideal candidate for this position if you have:
- Experience managing a portfolio of SME clients within practice, outsourced finance, or a similar professional services environment.
- Strong technical knowledge of month-end processes, VAT returns, and the preparation of statutory accounts.
- Experience leading client meetings and managing professional relationships with business owners and leadership teams.
- Demonstrated leadership or people management experience, including mentoring and developing junior staff.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to review work and maintain high quality standards.
- The ability to manage multiple client engagements and priorities simultaneously.
- A proactive and self-driven approach, taking ownership of delivery and problem solving.
- Experience working with cloud-based accounting tools such as Xero, Fathom, or Dext.
