Blair West are supporting a leading North East retailer to find a Front-end / UX Web Developer (e-commerce). This is a new role designed to strengthen the front-end capability of a fast-paced, omni-channel retail business. Sitting within the commercial team and collaborating with the wider software team, this position plays a key role in supporting trading activity, improving user experience, and driving online performance through rapid, high-quality front-end delivery.
The opportunity
- Developing and optimising front-end functionality and user experience across e-commerce websites.
- Working closely with buyers, merchandisers, and trading teams to support commercial priorities.
- Enhancing product presentation to improve user and customer experience to drive conversion.
- Translating commercial requirements into clean, performant front-end solutions.
- Delivering UX and performance improvements through practical, iterative enhancements.
- Operating in a live trading environment where priorities can shift quickly.
You’ll be the ideal candidate for this position if you have
- Hands-on experience with PHP. Magento 2 and the Hyvä theme, or a strong interest in learning and adopting it, would be beneficial.
- A solid understanding of front-end performance, responsiveness, and modern UX design best practice.
- Experience working in fast-paced, commercially focused environments.
