Blair West are supporting a long established North East training provider in their search for a Head of Learning Development due to continual growth in the business. As part of a dynamic forward thinking business you will oversee the planning and execution of L&D projects ensuring strict compliance and deputising for the L&D director. This role would suit an experienced L&D Manager who is operationally strong and ideally with an understanding of the apprenticeship scheme.
The opportunity:
- Support the Director in shaping the L&D strategy.
- Deputise for the Director, this could include some UK travel.
- Deliver a culture of excellence, accountability and learner centred practice.
- Lead a team who deliver aftercare once the course is completed.
- Monitor and ensure adherence to all relevant regulatory bodies and communicate changes.
- Develop and maintain compliance policies and procedures.
- Support teams for Ofsted inspections.
- Deliver compliance reporting to directors.
- Assist with safeguarding responsibilities.
- Champion continuous improvement for compliance and risk.
- Oversee the planning and execution of L&D projects.
- Lead the development of tender bids for government contracts, apprenticeships and commercial opportunities.
- Build strong relationships both internally and externally.
- Adapt and evolve with the business as it grows.
You’ll be the ideal candidate for this position if you have:
- Previous experience within learning and development at a senior level.
- Ideally an understanding of compliance and regulation in relation to apprenticeship schemes.
- Excellent operational leadership, communication and compliance management skills.
- Strong project management skills and methodology.
- Proven success in tender writing.
- Good understanding of Ofsted’s Education Inspection Framework.
- Experience with policy development.
