Head of Finance
Blair West are supporting a PE backed service sector SME with the appointment of a Head of Finance.
Working as part of a small team, the successful candidate will support the CFO during what is scale up phase, with M&A activity on the horizon.
The successful candidate will lead a small team, albeit with an agile and hands-on leadership style given.
The opportunity:
- Overall responsibility for all financial transactions and reporting.
- Ensuring timely and accurate annual, month end and other regular reporting.
- Implement and maintain robust internal controls.
- Be an integral part of the operations of the business and senior stakeholders via effective business partnering.
- Lead on budget setting process in collaboration with the CFO and monitor performance against budget/forecasts.
- Proactively lead improvement to financial systems and processes.
- Monitor cashflow forecasts and management of group banking requirements.
- Ensure compliance with both statutory and non-statutory financial regulatory needs.
- Leading finance projects as the need arises including M&A (acquisition analysis, valuations and due diligence review, alongside integration).
You’ll be the ideal candidate for this position if you have:
- Demonstrable career progression within a finance function.
- ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified.
- Strong leadership & communication skills.
- Strong analytical skills including the ability to interpret, concisely explain and act on complex data sets & information.
- Strong organisational skills.
- High level of skills with Excel and demonstrable experience using and managing accounting software.
