Blair West are supporting a Professional Services firm based in Central Newcastle with the recruitment of an Accounts Assistant. This is a hybrid role supporting a Finance Manager and Finance Director above you with transactional duties, covering purchase ledger, reconciliation work, and taking ownership of the credit control function. The opportunity: * Respond to finance-related queries from clients of the firm and colleagues across the firm and also suppliers. * Provide guidance on payments, transactions, and internal financial processes. * Process incoming supplier invoices, ensuring accuracy and appropriate approvals. * Schedule and process payments to suppliers, ensuring adherence to due dates. * Reconcile credit card transactions using our case management system. * Investigate and resolve any discrepancies in a timely manner. * Issue credit control letters to clients and follow up on outstanding payments. * Send payment links and ‘Letters Before Action’ where appropriate. * Maintain accurate records of communications and outcomes. * Other ad hoc finance tasks to support the existing team. You’ll be the ideal candidate for this position if you have: * Prior experience in a similar role. * A positive and proactive attitude. * Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail. * The ability to be a team player but also be able to work independently. * The ability to provide first class client care. * A high level of IT skills and knowledge.
