The role of the Family Time Worker is to support the line manager in ensuring an efficient and quality supervised family time service is delivered to children and families in Blaenau Gwent. An opportunity has arisen within the Children’s Services for a Family Time Worker with proven experience of working with and delivering services/programmes to children, parents and carers.
Responsibilities
- You will be responsible for supporting supervised family time arrangements as agreed by referral and review, ensuring that family time sessions are planned and supported to meet the needs of the child(ren) in question.
- Supporting parents in developing their relationship and interactions with their children to ensure that family time sessions are as positive as possible for the child(ren).
Essential Criteria
- Relevant Level 3 (or above) professional qualification in Health and Social Care, Early Years, Education (e.g. H&SC, CCLD, NNEB, EYCE) and Safeguarding Level 1 and 2.
- Ability to engage effectively with a range of professionals and agencies to promote partnership working.
- Understanding of the needs of children who are looked after and/or in need of protection.
Thorough pre‑employment screening is undertaken during the recruitment process. The post holder will be required to complete an application for a Disclosure of Criminal Records. This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974. A comprehensive pre‑employment screening process will be undertaken which will include an Enhanced Disclosure with Child and Adult Barred List. Access to a vehicle for work purposes is a requirement of the role.
