An opportunity has arisen within the Children, Young People & Families directorate for a Cook to prepare/cook meals in schools for Blaenau Gwent Catering Service.
You will be responsible for the production of meals and food services. You will undertake the full range of Cooks duties which include organising and supervising the work of other members of catering staff, monitoring and recording whilst paying particular attention to hygiene and safety, sickness, food safety management system, health and safety procedures and complying with all administrative duties and procedures.
The successful candidate will possess a City & Guilds 706/1, 706/2 or NVQ Level 1/2 in catering and a current Food Safety Level 3 qualification. You will have experience of working within a catering field and practical catering skills.
You will be prepared to work additional hours or at any reasonable time of day as required to ensure the smooth running of the catering unit.
This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974. A comprehensive pre-employment screening process will be undertaken which will include an Enhanced Disclosure with Child Barred List
