About the role: As a Play Co-ordinator in Blaenau Gwent’s Childcare & Play Team, you’ll take the lead in delivering fun, inclusive and meaningful play sessions for children and young people across the borough. Your role will involve planning activities, sourcing materials, assessing and booking venues, and promoting events within the community. You’ll also take the lead on coordinating major community celebrations such as National Play Day, helping to create memorable moments for families across Blaenau Gwent.

You’ll play a key role in ensuring our provision is accessible, inclusive, and child-led – while embedding the Play work Principles in everything you do. Whether it’s planning a week of themed sessions, assessing risk on a Wild Camp, or coordinating volunteers on-site, you’re adaptable, enthusiastic, and committed to giving children the best possible experiences. A knowledge of safeguarding and an understanding of inclusive practice are essential – but your energy, creativity and care are what make you stand out.

Thorough pre-employment screening is undertaken during the recruitment process. The post holder will be required to complete an application for a Disclosure of Criminal Records - Enhanced Disclosure with Child Barred List. Access to a vehicle for work purposes is a requirement of the role.
