An opportunity has arisen within the Children, Young People & Families Directorate for an Operational Supervisor within the Blaenau Gwent Catering Service. The position is a fixed term for 6 months from the time of employment.

Responsibilities

  • Provide efficient and cost-effective supervision of the Authority's catering establishments, assisting and liaising with Head Teachers and Managers of sites.
  • Support the Client function, transfer of equipment, stock and emergency meals, access equipment needs and arrange provision of equipment.
  • Responsible for quality inspections and Food Safety inspections and monitor HACCP in all catering facilities.
  • Audit stock levels and assist with staffing levels within all catering establishments.
  • Conduct on-site induction training and implement training programmes for catering staff as and when required.

Qualifications

  • GCSE grade C or above in Maths, English and ICT.
  • Food Safety Level 3 qualification.
  • Minimum 5 years' experience within the catering industry.

Additional Requirements

  • Prepared to work additional hours or at any reasonable time of day as required to ensure the smooth running of the catering unit.
