In this role, you'll be at the heart of the Flying Start programme, working with children aged 2-3 years to provide high-quality childcare. You’ll support the Childcare Leader and wider team in planning and delivering fun, stimulating sessions that encourage development across social skills, confidence, curiosity, and creativity through play. You might create exciting sensory opportunities, support imaginative role play, explore nature outdoors, or help children develop confidence through learning experiences. You’ll also work closely with families, building positive relationships with parents and carers, and celebrating children’s progress together.
There’s room to grow within the role. You may become a Key Worker for a small group of children, plan opportunities for exploration, track progress, and create individual play plans that help them shine. You’ll be encouraged to share ideas, contribute to team planning, and take part in training and development opportunities to build your skills and confidence in childcare. You’ll join a team that values creativity, reflective practice, and new ideas, and you’ll have the chance to work with other professionals to support children and families.
