We are looking for a reliable, flexible and caring Relief Driver to support our Community Meals Service and Day Services transport, ensuring vulnerable residents can access nutritious meals and essential services safely and with dignity. About the Role:
- As a Relief Driver, you will provide cover when required, supporting two vital services:
- Deliver hot meals and afternoon teas safely and on time.
- Maintain high standards of food safety, hygiene and quality.
- Accurately complete delivery records and daily numbers.
- Act as a key point of contact, reporting faults, compliments and concerns appropriately.
- Support service continuity where required.
- Drive a minibus to collect individuals from their homes and return them safely following attendance at Day Services.
- Ensure passenger safety, dignity, comfort and wellbeing at all times.
- Provide a friendly, respectful and supportive service to people who rely on transport to access services.
Across both parts of the role, you will:
- Carry out daily vehicle checks and report defects.
- Ensure vehicles are clean, safe and roadworthy.
- Follow road safety, legal and organisational requirements.
- Work effectively as part of a small team, taking direction from cooks, drivers and team leaders.
- Maintain confidentiality and comply with health.
