We are looking for a reliable and skilled Shift Engineer to join our team overseeing the maintenance and operation of a prestigious residential apartment complex near Knightsbridge Station. This role is perfect for a proactive professional committed to ensuring the safety, comfort, and efficient functioning of building systems around the clock. Working hours are as follows; 4 days on (7am to 7pm), 4 days off. Occasional night shifts (7pm to 7am) to cover holidays or absences.
Job Duties
- Monitor and ensure all statutory building certificates are up to date and properly recorded.
- Maintain and repair building plants and equipment including boilers, pumps, chillers, air handling units, electrical systems, and plumbing.
- Respond promptly to resident requests and maintenance issues via Building Link and CAFM systems.
- Monitor the Building Management System (BMS) for alarms, operational issues, and system scheduling.
- Conduct regular inspections and maintain detailed engineering logs to ensure smooth shift handovers.
- Manage lift safety, including evacuation of trapped passengers and coordination with contractors.
- Follow fire safety protocols and support emergency procedures as required.
- Provide exceptional customer service to residents and colleagues.
Job Requirements
- Minimum 5 years’ experience as an Engineer with relevant electrical or mechanical qualifications (C&G Level 2 minimum; Level 3 preferred).
- Experience in residential or luxury property environments is desirable.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work well under pressure.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work effectively in shifts.
- Ability to maintain and repair a wide range of mechanical, electrical, and/or plumbing systems.
- Right to work in the UK.
