Blade Lifting and Logistics are now recruiting for experienced mobile crane operators to join our growing team.
Job Purpose
To safely operate Bcker mobile truck-mounted cranes to carry out lifting operations across a variety sites throughout the UK, working in sectors including telecommunications, construction, utilities, infrastructure and specialist logistics projects. The role requires compliance with all company procedures, lift plans, relevant legislation and industry best practice, ensuring all lifting operations are completed safely, efficiently and professionally. Key Responsibilities
Operate Bcker mobile cranes safely and efficiently in accordance with manufacturers' instructions, lift plans and company procedures. Carry out daily vehicle and crane inspections and report any defects immediately. Set up cranes correctly, including the deployment of outriggers, stabilisers and ground protection systems. Conduct pre-lift checks to ensure lifting accessories, equipment and site conditions are suitable for the planned operation. Work closely with Appointed Persons, Crane Supervisors and Slinger/Signallers during lifting operations. Follow instructions provided within lift plans, method statements and risk assessments. Monitor weather conditions and cease lifting activities when conditions become unsafe. Ensure compliance with LOLER, PUWER, BS7121 and company health and safety procedures. Maintain accurate records including daily defect reports, timesheets, fuel usage and lift documentation. Assist with loading, unloading and securing equipment and materials when required. Maintain the crane, vehicle and associated equipment in a clean and professional condition. Communicate professionally with clients, site personnel and members of the public. Represent Blade Lifting & Logistics in a professional manner at all times. Support the business with occasional out-of-hours and emergency response work when required. Health & Safety Responsibilities
Work in accordance with the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974. Stop work immediately if unsafe conditions are identified. Ensure all lifting operations are conducted within the crane's rated capacity and the approved lift plan. Participate in toolbox talks, safety briefings and training sessions.. Essential Requirements
CPCS A60 Mobile Crane Operator Card. Full UK Driving Licence. HGV Class 2 (Category C) Licence. Valid Driver CPC qualification where applicable. Demonstrable experience operating mobile or truck-mounted cranes. Good understanding of safe lifting practices and lifting equipment. Ability to read and follow lift plans and method statements. Strong communication and teamwork skills. Flexible approach to working hours and travel. Desirable Requirements
Slinger/Signaller qualification. Crane Supervisor qualification. Experience operating Bcker cranes. Experience within telecoms, utilities or construction sectors. First Aid at Work qualification. Personal Qualities
